Elevating Your Test Prep Offerings

As we enter spring, we are thrilled to share some significant developments designed to help you deliver even greater value to your students and clients.

This quarter marks the official launch of our comprehensive Prep Suite. We’ve reimagined the entire experience to provide your learners with more effective, engaging tools. While our updated courses feature refreshed content aligned with the latest standards, the true game-changer is our new AI-graded practice test.

Real-Time Scoring, Real-World Results

This innovative feature provides immediate, AI-driven scoring of writing and speaking samples, aligned with official iTEP rubrics. By reporting scores against the CEFR scale, we’ve effectively closed the gap between preparation and performance. We’ve partnered with Carnegie Speech Assessment ®, to offer our candidates graded Writing and Speaking scores on the iTEP Practice Plus.

For the first time, candidates gain full insight into how they would perform on the real exam, allowing them to know exactly where they stand before the official test even starts. Your students get the precise guidance they need, while you maintain the highest levels of quality and efficiency.

IT Updates

New Feature Spotlight: “Session Break” for Flexible Testing

We know that fitting a comprehensive English proficiency exam into a single class period can be a logistical puzzle. To give you more flexibility, we’ve introduced the Session Break feature, designed specifically for middle/high school classrooms with limited time.

How It Works

Partners can now request an iTEP exam to pause automatically after a specific section (such as Reading).

Seamless Pausing: The test proceeds normally until the end of your chosen section, then directs the student to a “Session Complete” screen.
Automatic Resume: When students log back in at a later date, the test picks up exactly where they left off, moving straight into the remaining sections.
Worry-Free Timing: You no longer need to monitor screens to ensure students don’t start the next section too early. The system handles the pacing for you.

Important Details

Availability: This feature is only available for middle school and high school on-campus testing.
One Test, One Result: All sections remain part of a single exam instance.
Grading: Final scores will be generated and available once all sections of the test have been completed and graded.

To ensure the continued security of our testing system, please be aware that iTEP Test IDs are valid for 12 months from your account activation date.

We encourage you to review your dashboard to check your specific expiration dates.

Academic updates

New Content for iTEP Exams

We’re excited to announce updates to iTEP’s flagship products! iTEP Academics is refreshing its item banks with content that reflects the real-world language needs of test-takers and institutions worldwide.

These updates serve two key purposes: rotating content helps maintain exam integrity and security, while updated topics ensure the test remains relevant to global audiences. Additionally, our new exam audio features greater voice diversity and enhanced audio quality for clearer listening passages.

More updates to iTEP exams are coming soon—stay tuned!

AI Practice Tests Now available

Our enhanced practice tests will provide candidates with a summary on all five sections of the exam. The standard practice tests previously provided scores for the core sections of the test (Grammar, Reading, Listening.) The iTEP Practice Plus, though, will also provide a calibrated score for the candidate’s writing and speaking submissions. This value feedback will give users more specific insight on their preparedness for the real exam.

Features include:

Full-length, timed iTEP exam
Immediate scores on all five sections
Writing and Speaking scores are calibrated against the official iTEP rubrics and grading practices

Expansion Updates

iTEP Expands in Central Asia

iTEP International is excited to announce official government recognition in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, significantly expanding our footprint in Central Asia. In Uzbekistan, iTEP Academic-Plus is now approved for university admissions, teacher salary bonuses, and the “2+6” youth subsidy program. Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science has adopted iTEP as the proficiency standard for faculty across all university and medical institutions. Chosen for its CEFR alignment and 24-hour results, iTEP is proud to provide these nations with a secure, efficient, and officially sanctioned path to academic and professional success.

Morocco

iTEP International has officially partnered with the Atlantic Canada Language Academy (ACLA) to launch an innovative hybrid English program in Nador, Morocco, in collaboration with the local NGO CECODEL. By integrating iTEP’s reliable, high-integrity placement testing with ACLA’s live Canadian instruction, this transnational initiative provides North African students with accessible, high-quality language training designed to meet global standards. This strategic expansion underscores a shared commitment to supporting Morocco’s national English proficiency goals through secure, data-driven assessment and expert pedagogy.

Through this collaboration, iTEP will introduce Wheaton Academy Institute’s programs and resources to our global network of Christian schools, helping institutions strengthen leadership, instructional quality, and mission-driven development. In turn, Wheaton Academy Institute will bring iTEP’s secure, flexible English assessment solutions to their partner schools, supporting admissions, placement, and English proficiency benchmarking. Together, we are expanding what’s possible for Christian schools around the world, combining trusted institutional development with reliable English assessment. UFES highlight

The Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), a prestigious public institution founded in 1954 and headquartered in Vitória, has long been recognized as a national leader in Brazilian higher education. Through its innovative partnership with iTEP, UFES has further solidified this leadership position by addressing the “accessibility gap” created by Brazil’s continental size. Leveraging its renowned Foreign Languages Center, the university has transformed itself into a strategic hub for English proficiency certification. Through a model that combines iTEP’s flexible, at-home testing with robust AI proctoring via Rosalyn, UFES provides equitable access to students in remote regions, eliminating the financial and logistical burdens of long-distance travel. This “Open Door” policy allows students nationwide to obtain certifications—particularly the iTEP Reading test—ensuring academic rigor and consistent scheduling for postgraduate candidates without the bottlenecks of traditional exam dates. Recognized by ANDIFES and aligned with the Ministry of Education’s internationalization goals, the UFES-iTEP collaboration serves as a scalable benchmark for other federal universities, reinforcing UFES’s role as a public institution committed to academic excellence, social outreach, and the modernization of language assessment across Brazil.

Brazil remains a cornerstone of the iTEP community! Lorena Chatwell, Director of Global Business Development, who now serves as our direct representative for Brazil, recently visited the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES) to strengthen our deep-rooted partnership. It was a highlight of the quarter to reconnect with the UFES team, celebrate our past achievements, and lay the groundwork for upcoming initiatives in the Brazilian edtech space. With Lorena’s dedicated focus on the region, we are excited to provide even more tailored support to our Brazilian partners.

Southeast Asian Expansion: Collaborative Initiatives in Singapore and Vietnam

Yuan Li, Director of Global Business Development, recently traveled through Singapore and Vietnam alongside iTEP Vietnam Country Manager Chinh Nguyen Xuan to strengthen our growing partnerships across the region. From top international schools like EtonHouse and Stamford American International School in Singapore, to Cognita partners, HUFLIT University, Student Unions, and VNHR Association Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City — it was a highlight of the quarter to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new ones, and lay the groundwork for exciting initiatives ahead.

Discussions spanned co-hosted testing events, expanded iTEP adoption, and employability-focused English assessment opportunities, while Yuan also took time to hear directly from current iTEP users about their experiences with admissions and placement. The enthusiasm and openness from partners across both countries reaffirmed just how much momentum is building in this region.
